Simply put, Dr. Tony Vine helped save my life. In the early stages of Covid, I was experiencing abdominal pains at a time when access to physicians was virtually impossible. After a very brief phone call with Tony, he said I don’t like what I’m hearing and despite Covid I want you to come to my office so that I can actually examine you. After a brief evaluation, he concluded that my kidneys were not functioning properly and my life was in danger. He immediately got me to a radiologist who performed an MRI and followed that up with an immediate appointment with a urologist.The blood work indicated that had this not occurred I could’ve possibly died in the next 48 hours. I was unable to have surgery for nearly another four weeks but with Tony’s help I was able to get on the operating schedule at Mount Sinai as one of the earliest cases they allowed. I will forever be grateful for this extraordinary doctor who is incredibly talented, conscientious, and deeply cares about his patients. He is a very special human being

I’m writing this review to let others know about Dr Anthony Vine who is a gem of a person and a gem of a doctor. Dr. Vine has operated on 2 people in my immediate family, consulted with another on a complicated gastrointestinal problem and seen yet another in the emergency room. The surgeries and ER visit were all on short notice and the consultation was of enormous help. I could go on and on about his surgical expertise but there’s more. Dr. Vine cares deeply about his patients, in a way that is unusual during this time of big conglomerates providing medical care. Once patients have connected with Dr. Vine they are followed closely with phone calls and texts. If he is asked for a recommendation of a professional in another field, you can be sure he will pick someone excellent, will follow up and will watch over the situation. In other words, once you are in his orbit, you become family!
Dr. Vine is a consummate physician. The care he showed my mother was amazing. He is not only an incredibly skilled surgeon, but a truly compassionate one as well.

Last summer, I was experiencing abdominal discomfort, and an ultrasound revealed an enlarged appendix, so I went to a prominent ER in NYC, where I got a CT scan. The ER concluded I did not have appendicitis and sent me home. A few days later, I followed up with a prominent colorectal surgeon – after I spent most of the appointment talking to his med student, the surgeon said he didn’t know what it was and he hadn’t had a chance to look at my CT scan, but since the ER said it’s not appendicitis, just take antibiotics and come back in 6 weeks. Knowing that a burst appendix could kill me much sooner than that, I started asking friends and family for someone truly knowledgeable. Thankfully, I was directed to Dr. Vine, the first person on this journey who (a) knew what the heck he was talking about and (b) CARED. He told me my CT scan was not performed properly and immediately sent me for a new one with a trusted radiologist. The new CT scan showed clear appendicitis, and Dr. Vine quickly scheduled me for surgery. He then went above and beyond to get me in sooner than scheduled, which I appreciated immensely. The appendectomy went great, and he explained everything to my wife when she picked me up. He was amazing about Q&A throughout, educating me on the anatomy of the appendix, how appendicitis works, and how he fixes it. In a time when many doctors seem to prioritize quantity over quality of care, Dr. Vine stands out as someone who truly cares about his work and each and every patient. I am so grateful to have found him and would recommend him to anyone. In fact, when my brother bizarrely had his own case of appendicitis 5 months later, guess who I sent him to!
He was measured, instructive, and resolved a long bout of diverticulitis I had, as well as performed a perfect surgery on my father that has resulted in years of relief! Highest gratitudes while dealing with this tough condition. Thank you Dr. Vine!
Excellent hernia consultation. Understood step by step my surgery. Easy scheduling. Spent time for me to understand and have full confidence. Very easy recovery, with almost no pain and quick return to normal activity. Strongly recommend.
There are not enough stars in the sky for Dr. Vine! After a tough year and hesitancy about having additional surgery Dr. Vine was just the doctor I needed. He was so thorough and comforting. I felt very safe under his care. He took the time to check in regularly following my surgery which meant a lot. The office staff is phenomenal as well. So grateful for Dr. Vine and his team.
